Andrew Rogerson and Rob Rastorp spoke at a conference on Cross-Border Litigation Strategies on Thursday, 19 February 2015.
They provided expert insight to other lawyers on Mareva Mechanics in Cross-Border Litigation at The Bond Place Hotel, Toronto, Ontario. A Mareva Injunction is a ‘freezing order’ made by the court which restrains a party from disposing of or dealing with his or her assets.
The conference took place against the background of today’s international business market, where cross-border disputes and litigation is increasingly common. Topics also included defending cross-border actions, the use of evidence obtained in foreign proceedings, and cross border insolvency procedures. Participants were able to attend the conference virtually, via live broadcast simultaneously.
